The most important trend to stop wearing in 2024…. the weight of other people’s opinions!
~Robyn Balsley
Happy New Year! I am thrilled to be back and excited to kick off the year with some fabulous fashion tips to get you feeling amazing.
It has been a couple months since I have written my blog. Life has been full of challenges, starting with the loss of our sweet dog, Graci back in November. She gave us over 15 years of unconditional love and we miss her so much!
On top of that, my husband and I recently downsized our family home of 24 years. It was a bittersweet experience, but we are now ready for a fresh start in our next chapter!
The move was a transformative experience, giving us the chance to purge and release the unnecessary baggage that has accumulated over the years. It was a powerful reminder of the freedom and liberation that comes from letting go of things we no longer need. I can’t stress enough how beneficial the process can be even if you are not planning a move.
The move was also a good reminder on how to manage our wardrobes. For it to be functional follow the 80/20 rule – 80% basics/investment pieces and 20% trend pieces – pick one or two trends each season to keep your wardrobe modern and fun.
Here are some trends that will up level your basics in the year ahead:
PEARLS
A dear friend of mine would say they were never out. It was great to see them on the spring runway shows and I personally love this timeless accessory. With the right styling, pearls can add a touch of elegance and style to any outfit. For a modern look, pair them with a gold chain.
BOMBER JACKET
I love this look as a more casual fun alternative to a blazer. This can take you to the office with trousers or on the weekend with jeans. I have had this leopard version for a few years, and it is a great third piece to elevate an outfit.
BELTS
Time to get rid of the oversized silhouette and start showing your waist. If you are like me and don’t have a waist, you can create one and the best place to start, is with a belt. A belt can take a drab outfit and finish it off.

ALL THINGS RED
Yes, it is my favorite color, but it can also up level an outfit. Look for other sophisticated colors like rich brown, shades of purple, or burgundy. Say goodbye to Barbiecore pink…unless it is your best color.
MONOCHROMATIC OUTFITS
An all-black outfit is top of my list and always looks chic. Pair with a sneaker for a fun chic look or elevate with an all-gray ensemble and a metallic silver shoe.
POLKA DOTS
Okay I love a great stripe top, but a polka dot pattern adds more fun and brightness to an outfit. I have a couple in my closet that never go out of style.

METALLIC SILVER SHOES
I have shared my loafers here a few times and I absolutely love them. Go for a metallic boot or sneaker. These can also take you from office to a weekend running errands.
As we head into 2024 know that embracing the art of decluttering and simplifying your life can create space for new opportunities, clarity of mind, and a renewed sense of purpose. Trust me, it is a game-changer!
Let's step into 2024 with ease and grace. I look forward to helping you clear the clutter, maximize your wardrobe, shine a little brighter, and feel fabulous every day!!
