Elevate your outfits!

A girl should be two things: Classy and Fabulous!

~ Coco Chanel

As we come to the end of July, I am really wanting summer to slow down! I love this time of year and especially July 31st…it was the day I became a mom! My amazing, beautiful daughter will be 29! It is such a magical year since my mom always celebrated the anniversary of her 29th birthday!

I have talked about my mom here several times and she was truly my inspiration for many things including fashion. She always took the time to add a special piece to her outfit and she never left the house without her lipstick.

It got me thinking about how we all want to get dressed quickly and still look pulled together. When you take an extra moment to elevate your look, you will feel more confident and get out the door with grace.

Whether you have a special event, going to the office, or simply want to feel your best when running errands…below are three simple ways to elevate your outfit without spending a ton.

These are basics that you likely already have in your closet that can add instant style and elegance to any outfit:

Black

We talk a lot about adding a pop of color and I love that, but sometimes all you need to do is wear all black and you quickly appear more elegant. It can be worn year round and goes with everything. A black blazer is a great investment piece that can be worn with jeans or dressed up for work.

CAMEL

Add camel or a tan color to any outfit and it instantly adds style and elegance. It can also be worn year-round for a chic look. Wear it in the summer with white jeans, or try a white tee and a camel cardigan with tan sandals. In the fall add a trench coat to jeans and sneakers. If camel is not flattering around your face, add it with a pant, shoe, or bag.

Anthropologie

BLAZERS

This is a great way to add that third piece and complete the outfit. It can be worn with a tee and jeans, over a dress, or with your favorite trousers for work. I find when I put on a blazer, I feel more confident and pulled together no matter how simple my outfit.

As a personal stylist, I know it’s not all about the clothes, and the best place to start is creating more positive elevated thoughts about our bodies and life. There is nothing as powerful as a woman who feels authentically confident in who she is becoming.

Let's step into August with ease and grace. I look forward to helping you clear the clutter, maximize your wardrobe, shine a little brighter, and feel fabulous every day!
