Tis the Season to Sparkle

She makes the day brighter, she leaves a little sparkle wherever she goes — Kate Spade

Tis the season to sparkle! Whether you are going to an office party, dinner with friends, charity gala, or a cocktail party, this is a perfect time to add some sequin, velvet, feathers, and lots of sparkle to your outfit.

Now more than ever we are ready to get out and enjoy the holidays after so many restrictions these past couple of years. Just like the roaring 20’s when everyone was coming out of the depression…people are ready to glam it up!

Sequins are an easy way to do just that, and they are having a big moment right now. They were all over the red carpet for the Emmy Awards back in September and we so often get inspiration from the celebrities. Okay, maybe we won’t be wearing a long sequin gown, but we can still get our sparkle on.

So how do we dress down our sequins and make them relatable to our lives…. It is really very easy and here are few ideas…

Sequin Top - Pair it with jeans for a quick festive look. Need something more dressy, pair it with black tuxedo pants or a satin skirt. Add a simple blazer to tone down the shine and wear with your favorite jeans.

Sequin Jacket - Pair with a simple pant and add a solid casual tee underneath, finish the outfit with sneakers for fun!

Sequin Skirt or Pant – Pair with a cashmere solid sweater or white blouse, add a simple bootie or a pump for the shoe.

Festive Accessories - You can take any simple outfit and add some sparkle with statement earrings, a big bold necklace, a fun clutch, or sparkly shoes.

Velvet - I love a great black or navy velvet blazer. This can be paired with nice pants or worn with jeans. I also love to wear it with a long midi or maxi skirt. A great staple is a relaxed velvet button down blouse. Love it over a slip dress, worn with a skirt, or jeans. Of course velvet pants always work.

I know the holidays can be a very challenging time. For some it may be the first holiday without a loved one, others can’t be with their family or are alone, locally there are many that no longer have their homes and holiday treasures from the fire last year…..To you all, I send lots of love and light and wishing you a little sparkle in the days ahead!

Let's step into December with ease, grace, and joy in the simplest of things. I look forward to helping you clear the clutter, maximize your wardrobe, shine a little brighter, and feel fabulous every day!!

With Grace,
